ethnicrobot - STUDIO

The studio consists of the following:

Macintosh G4 dual processor with 1.5 gigabytes of RAM, 120 gigs of disk space, including firewire audio HD with the Oxford chip.
Logic 6 woth a Logic control surface now running OS X Panther.
Front end - Apogee Trac2, RME HDSP 9652 card.
Two 18.1" Sony LCD monitors with more on the way.
Logic Platinum 5 sequencer. Nick uses the EXS 24 from Emagic (a software sampler).
Audio monitors are KRK V8's. Nick likes them.
For mixing, Nick has a Yamaha digital O3D board.
It's nice and compact.
It is now used for output only. Nick likes to work inside the computer more and more.
Keyboards include Yamaha CS1X, Yamaha AN1X, Yamaha DJX II, Yamaha A3000 sampler, Korg MS2000R, Korg MS2000, Kurzweil K2000, Kawai 5000S, Roland SH32, and Novation K-Station.

Nick samples a lot: "I find that samplers give you a world of creativity. Samplers are good! Some people think otherwise — they are wrong! If you don't have something that you need, sample the sucker!"

Due to working on projects with Roland and the like, a lot of product hits the studio at least 6 - 9 months before the public can buy it or even know about it — one of the perks of this gig!

All studio furniture is designed by Nick and made to measure by Venezia Wood and Iron in Venice, California. It's definitely different than the usual tan or black.
